Nokia has officially released its Here for Android navigation service. The map service was previously only available for Samsung Galaxy devices and there was also a test version, but now Here has also appeared in the Play Store. In addition, a version for iOS should follow in early 2015.

More than a million users are said to have already installed the Here for Android beta, and most of them came from Germany and the US, according to the Finnish company. Those users still had to sideload the app, but the app can now be installed from Google’s Play Store. Users don’t have to delete their current version for this, and added maps and voices are also preserved.

In addition, Nokia has added 18 more countries to the voice-guided navigation, bringing the total to 118. Nokia says it gets a lot of questions about an iOS version and the company is working hard to bring it to iPhones and iPads in early 2015.

Nokia for Android was temporarily an exclusive service for Samsung Galaxy devices, but a test version for other Android models appeared in October. Users must have Android 4.1 or later versions.
