Nokia presents Withings fitness watch with analog dial
Nokia introduced the Withings Steel HR at IFA. It is a watch with an analog dial, containing a small, round, electronic screen. The fitness tracker has a heart rate monitor and a pedometer, and displays notifications.
According to Withings, the Steel HR battery lasts up to 25 days. The watch works in conjunction with the Withings Health Mate app which is available for Android and iOS. In this app, users can specify a goal for the number of steps they want to take in a day, among other things; this is then displayed on the watch.
With a button on the side of the watch, wearers can switch between the different views of the digital screen. In addition to steps, this can also display the heart rate or show notifications, among other things. According to the makers, the watch shows incoming calls, new emails, text messages and reminders.
The Steel HR watch comes in two sizes: 40mm and 36mm. The former is only available in black and uses 20mm wide straps. The small variant also comes with a white dial and is paired with 18mm straps. From October, the Steel HR watches will be on sale for 180 and 170 euros respectively.
Withings is a manufacturer of health-focused wearables such as fitness trackers, scales and blood pressure monitors. Nokia acquired the company earlier this year for 170 million euros.
