No more new Xbox 360 titles for Xbox Games with Gold starting in October
Microsoft is announcing that no more new Xbox 360 titles will be added to Games with Gold starting October 1. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Live Gold subscribers can still claim Xbox 360 games through Games with Gold until October 1.
The first subscribers have received an email from Microsoft with the announcement, which is seen by The Verge. The tech giant writes that subscribers of the aforementioned subscriptions can still add Xbox 360 games to their library until October 1, but that no Xbox 360 titles will be added after that.
Each month, Microsoft selects a number of games that can be downloaded and played by Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold subscribers at no additional cost. It draws from the library of games that previously appeared for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
According to Microsoft, the source of Xbox 360 games is running out of games that can still be added to the Games with Gold catalog. That is why Microsoft says it cannot continue to add titles from the Xbox 360. The games that subscribers have already claimed before October 1 will remain accessible. Microsoft will continue to add Xbox One games to Games with Gold for the time being.
