The game No Man’s Sky does not need to be renamed. After an agreement with the British provider Sky, developer Hello Games has been given the right to use the word “Sky”. The game is set to release on August 9.

Hello Games founder Sean Murray say on Twitter that with the agreement “three years of stupid legal nonsense” is over. It is not clear what exactly has been agreed with the British provider, but Hello Games will probably have to pay for the use of “Sky” in No Man’s Sky.

Earlier, the developer announced that the release of No Man’s Sky would be delayed until August 9. It was not disclosed whether the legal problems with Sky were related to the postponement. Murray himself said that the game still had to be ‘polished’ before release.

Microsoft previously got into a similar situation with Sky. The British provider believed that its trademark rights were being violated with Microsoft’s SkyDrive. Ultimately, the name of the cloud storage service was changed to OneDrive.
