Nintendo will begin online multiplayer functionality for its Mario Kart Tour mobile game in December. This is a beta in which only owners of a paid Gold Pass for the game can participate.

Nintendo has the arrival of the real-time multiplayer beta test in December announced via Twitter without giving much detail about the test. It is clear that only subscribers with a Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass can participate, but it is not known how long the beta will last and when Nintendo wants to release the functionality widely.

Players can purchase a Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscription for €5.50 per month. In addition to being able to participate in the beta test, this will give them the option to earn Gold Gifts and Gold Badges in-game and unlock the faster 200cc mode.

Nintendo released Mario Kart Tour for iOS and Android at the end of September. It was already clear then that there would be a multiplayer option. This feature was mentioned in the game, but could not be activated.
