Nintendo will release the final content update for smartphone game Mario Kart Tour in early October. The game will remain playable afterwards, but from then on it will only receive tours with content that the developer has previously released.

Nintendo announces that decision via an in-game message, also reports @OatmealDome. The Battle Tour for the smartphone game will be released on Wednesday, October 4. That will be the last content update that Nintendo releases for Mario Kart Tour. According to the gaming giant, future tours will consist of content that has previously been released. From October 4, no new tracks, drivers, karts or gliders will be added.

Mario Kart Tour was released in 2019 for Android and iOS smartphones. In 2020, the game also received a multiplayer option, allowing players to compete against each other. Until recently, Nintendo regularly provided the game with content in the form of tours, but has now stopped doing so.
