Nintendo will release new Game & Watch with old Zelda games in November
Nintendo is releasing a new Game & Watch handheld in celebration of Zelda’s 35th anniversary. Last year, Nintendo did the same with the anniversary of Super Mario Bros. The new version will get three old Zelda games and will be available for purchase from November 12.
The handheld is called Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda in full and contains the very first game in the series, which appeared for the NES in 1986. Also includes the handheld Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link from 1987 and the game The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, which appeared for the Game Boy in 1993.
There is a fourth game on the Zelda edition of the Game & Watch; that is an adaptation of Vermin, one of the original Game & Watch titles. It is a whack-a-mole mini-game with Link as a playable character. The handheld also contains an interactive clock and timer.
The Game & Watch featuring Zelda games will be available to purchase from November 12. The retro handheld comes a year after the release of the Game & Watch with Super Mario Bros. from. The price of the new version will be comparable to last year’s version, which costs about 55 euros.
