Nintendo Switch Update Adds Limited Gameplay Recording Feature
The most recent version of the Nintendo Switch firmware includes a feature that allows users to take a short recording of gameplay. The feature is currently available for a limited number of games.
In the release notes of the update, Nintendo writes that the function works by holding down the screenshot capture button. This allows players to record a maximum of the last thirty seconds. They can then determine the beginning and end of each clip and upload the video to Facebook or Twitter. Captured clips also end up in the album.
The feature currently only works with four games: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, and Splatoon 2. Nintendo is not revealing when more games will support the functionality.
Another change in the update is a feature for transferring user data and save games to another Switch. To do this, both consoles must have the latest update and the user account that the user wants to transfer must be connected to a Nintendo Account. The transfer also transfers purchased software to the second console.
