Nintendo Switch PDP controller gains voice chat capability
The FaceOff Deluxe+ controller from the company PDP for Nintendo Switch is the first controller for the Nintendo console with support for voice chat. The wired controller has a 3.5mm jack to connect headsets.
The controller is an alternative to Nintendo’s own Pro controller, says PDP. In order to use voice chat, games must support it. Fortnite, among others, has its own voice chat system built into the Switch version. The voice chat of Nintendo itself works with an app for smartphones, and the controller does not work with that.
The 3.5mm jack is centrally located at the bottom. The Nintendo Pro controller does not have that connection and the Joy-Cons also have to do without a wired connection for audio equipment. In addition to support for audio, the controller also has controls for audio on the controller. In addition, there are two buttons that users can set themselves for their own functions. The cover is also interchangeable. The controller will be released this summer and will cost $25.
