Nintendo Switch Online app lets users send friend requests

It is now possible to send friend requests to other players via the Nintendo Switch Online mobile app. At first this was only possible via the Nintendo Switch itself. Also, users can share their own friend code via a url or save it as a qr code.

The feature is available in version 2.2.0 on iOS and android. It can be found in the user settings under the ‘Friend Requests’ button. There the user can enter the obtained friend code and send a friend request. The option to share your own friend code via a url or as a qr code is located in the main menu of the settings, with the profile picture of the user.

Accepting the friend request cannot be done via the app, but only via the Switch console. It is unknown whether Nintendo will allow accepting a friend request via the Switch Online app in the future.
