Nintendo starts beta for multiplayer in mobile game Mario Kart Tour
Nintendo has started beta testing the multiplayer feature in the smartphone game Mario Kart Tour. Only paying users with a Gold Pass can participate in the test, which will end next week.
It’s “a real-time multiplayer beta test,” Nintendo said. The company warns that this is a test and that it is possible that the software is unstable or slow. The function to send may also disappear, says the Japanese game maker.
In addition, features may change before the final release of the multiplayer. It is unclear when the multiplayer part will eventually be released. The test period lasts until next Thursday. Players can take out a Mario Kart Tour Gold Pass subscription for 5.50 euros per month, which gives them access to the test.
The free-to-play Mario Kart Tour is a mobile version of the existing Mario Kart series. The game came out in September. The multiplayer option has been visible in the interface since its release, but has not been clickable until now.
