Nintendo shows round fitness accessory for the Switch

Nintendo is going to release a new, round input device for the Switch that seems to be mainly aimed at fitness applications. Apart from a trailer, there are few details yet; on September 12, the manufacturer will announce more.

Nintendo speaks with this product about a ‘new experience’, but has only yet published a video of users using the device during all kinds of different movements. This probably concerns fitness applications. This shows how users are lifting weights or making fast running movements, as it were. In addition, users also briefly appear who seem to make steering movements with the round input device or hold the accessory in a way that they probably shoot an arrow from a bow in the game being played.

From the video it can be concluded that it is probably two components: a suspected rubber ring that one Joy-Con goes into, combined with a strap around the thigh of the same user; in that band goes the second Joy-Con. The positions of the Joy-Con will probably be followed in the applications on the Switch, although more will be announced on Thursday. Presumably Nintendo will then fully reveal the accessory.
