Nintendo releases its Switch Online service next Tuesday. The Japanese manufacturer has announced this. Users can try the service free of charge for seven days, after which it costs from a few bucks a year.
Switch Online can be used from Tuesday 18 September, says Nintendo. The service includes the function to store the progress in many games online. In addition to cloud saving in certain titles, players will be given access to a collection of 20 classic NES games, including Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Mario Bros. and more
There will also be an app with additional features for iOS and Android, Nintendo says. Players can also take it online against other players. The service comes one and a half years after the Switch itself came on the market. That happened in March last year.
Nintendo announced more details during its Direct event. Switch Online costs 19.99 euros for a year or 3.99 euros for a month.
