Nintendo Releases Cardboard Labo: VR Pack for Switch on April 12

Nintendo comes with a holder in which the Switch can be inserted so that the handheld can be used for simple virtual reality games. When using the Lab: VR package, wearers must hold the ‘headset’ with their hands at eye level.

Nintendo’s Cardboard-like VR solution does not have a headband, probably due to the weight of the Switch, which weighs about 400 grams in combination with the Joy-Con controllers. The VR glasses are combined with other cardboard Labo creations and simple games. With a weapon, players can stop an alien invasion and there is, among other things, a diving game where players can take pictures.

There will be several two versions of the Labo: VR package. The most extensive variant costs 80 dollars in the United States and, in addition to the cardboard holder, also contains construction kits for a firecracker, camera, wind pedal, bird and an elephant trunk. The cheapest pack costs $40 and includes designs for the mount and the stunner only. The other expansions will also be available separately in the store. Euro prices are not yet known.

Nintendo has not yet shown images of the VR games. The company says it will soon provide more information about what the package has to offer. The new Labo packages will be available in stores on April 12.
