Nintendo makes Pokémon Trading Card Game Online for iPad
Nintendo has confirmed that it is working on a version of Pokémon Trading Card Game Online intended for the iPad. The game should be released later this year. The company had previously said it would not make games for Apple devices.
An image of Pokémon Trading Card Game Online on the iPad appeared online, after which a Nintendo spokesperson confirmed to Venturebeat that the game is actually being released. The card game should be released this year, but a more precise release date and possible price were not announced. Pokémon Trading Card Game Online allows gamers to play the Pokémon card game against each other. The game is similar to the versions previously released for Windows and Mac.
Usually Nintendo only releases games for its own devices such as the 3DS and Wii U and previously announced that it would not release games for iOS. However, the company has been struggling with disappointing business results for a long time, so a move to the popular mobile operating system iOS seems logical. Investors have already urged Nintendo to focus on mobile phones. It is not yet clear whether an Android version of the game will also be released.
