Nintendo bundles Switch remasters of Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy
Nintendo is planning to release a bundle with remasters of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. Internally, the collection would be known as Super Mario All-Stars 2.
The bundle is mentioned by GamesBeat and Eurogamer also claims to have heard about the use of the name Super Mario All-Stars 2. It is not clear whether that will actually be the title or whether the name is for internal use only. Nintendo released Super Mario All-Stars for the SNES in 1993. That was a bundle of four Super Mario games that had previously been released for the NES.
A new Paper Mario game is also expected. GamesBeat says the game is going back to its roots. The new version would resemble the Paper Mario games that appeared for the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube. Nintendo would like to announce the games at an event during E3. That fair has been cancelled, but Nintendo may opt for a presentation online.
On Monday, information already appeared about the arrival of remasters of ‘almost all’ Super Mario games. Nintendo would like to release the games for the Switch this year due to the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. In addition to the bundle, a Deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World is expected. Other Super Mario games could be released separately or also in bundles, it is not yet clear about that.
