Nintendo will also release the original Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii U Virtual Console outside of Japan. So it says on the product page of the game. The release date for America is December 24, but the date for Europe is still unknown.

The digital release of Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii U Virtual Console has received new features, according to Nintendo, such as support for the Wii U’s ability to play the game on the controller’s screen. In Japan, the game was already available for the Virtual Console since May this year.

Earlier this month there were already rumors about the arrival of Super Mario Galaxy to the Wii U. This is because there was an age rating for the game. The digital version of Super Mario Galaxy for the Virtual Console costs $19.99. It is unknown when the game will be available for the European market. The price is also unknown, but will probably be 19.99 euros, if a European release follows. This was also the case with the Virtual Console release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 earlier this year. Nintendo Benelux was unavailable for questions about this due to the Christmas season.

The European Wii U releases of Super Mario 64 DS and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars have been confirmed. These games will also be released on December 24.
