Nintendo brings original arcade version of Donkey Kong to Switch

Nintendo has added the original arcade version of Donkey Kong to the Arcade Archives for the Switch consoles. In addition, the more unknown arcade title Sky Skipper is coming to the console.

Donkey Kong is available immediately in the eShop on the Switch for $ 7.99, Nintendo announced. Hamster Corporation’s port includes three modes: the early version mode with bugs, the enhanced later version for the Japanese market, and the international version with some minor changes. In addition, players can choose between a high-score mode and a five-minute caravan mode. Finally, the game can be played in landscape or portrait mode.

Sky Skipper, like Donkey Kong from 1981, is not immediately available as an Arcade Archive title, but will be released in July. The port would come from the only Sky Skipper arcade cabinet and the only unmodified pcb left in Nintendo’s archive. The game revolves around a pilot who must rescue a royal family from the hands of gorillas.
