Nintendo announces Super Mario Party for Switch Switch
Nintendo has announced Super Mario Party. The eleventh installment in the Mario Party series revolves around minigames again, this time on Switch. Players can place two Switch consoles side by side to allow characters to walk from one to the other.
The trailer for Super Mario Party shows how four players place two Switch tablets next to each other to create a course for a type of tanks. The course can be changed by placing the tablets next to each other in a different way.
Super Mario Party again includes a collection of minigames, including a card game and a racing game with tricycles. Nintendo is once again putting the emphasis on playing together: some games have a split-screen mode with four screens and at least two Switch consoles can be connected to each other.
Super Mario Party will be released on October 5. The last Mario Party game was Mario Party 10, which came out in 2015 for the Wii U. Late last year, Nintendo introduced Mario Party: The Top 100 for the 3DS, featuring a selection of minigames from Mario Party history.
