Nintendo adds 5 Sega Mega Drive games to Switch Online + Expansion Pack
Nintendo has added five Sega Mega Drive games to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. They are the first Sega Mega Drive games to be added to the service. The releases give an indication of how often one can expect new games.
It’s about Altered Beast, ToeJam & Earl, Dynamite Headdy, Sword of Vermilion and Thunder Force II, so late Nintendo know on Twitter† For whose memory needs a refresh: Nintendo’s tweet includes video footage of all five games. They are available immediately to anyone who has purchased the Nintendo Switch subscription in question.
They are the first games for the Sega Mega Drive, also known as the Genesis, to be added since the service’s release in October. Recently, Paper Mario 64 also came to the Expansion Pack; that was the first N64 game to come to the service post-release.
The Expansion Pack costs 39.99 euros per year and includes the standard Nintendo Switch Online service, worth 19.99 euros per year. Many players find the Expansion Pack very expensive for the 14 Mega Drive games and 9 N64 games that originally came with it. In addition, the technical condition of the N64 games, at least when they were released last October, was not optimal.
