Nintendo 64 games via Nintendo Switch Online are all playable at 60Hz

All N64 games available through the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription will be playable at 60Hz and in English. Nintendo confirms that. PAL versions of certain games will also be available, which can be played in multiple languages.

“All Nintendo 64 games included in the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack can be played as English language versions at 60Hz,” Nintendo wrote. on Twitter. “Certain games will also have the option to play the original European PAL versions with different language options.”

Earlier there was doubt whether these N64 games will be playable at 60Hz, Eurogamer noted at the end of September. That was because Nintendo used images of PAL games at 50Hz when announcing the Expansion Pack subscription. Nintendo did not respond to these questions at the time.

The Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription will be released at the end of October, but an exact release date has not yet been announced. The upcoming subscription will include the regular Nintendo Switch Online service, but will also include Nintendo 64 and SEGA Genesis games, which subscribers will be able to play through the Nintendo Switch. The Japanese gaming giant has not yet disclosed subscription prices. The regular Nintendo Switch Online subscription costs 20 euros per year.
