Nikon announces the development of a new flagship in its line of mirrorless cameras. The Z9 gets a completely new sensor and an 8k movie function. The device has a built-in vertical handle and therefore resembles the D6-dslr.

Unlike the D6, the Nikon Z9 is not an SLR camera, but a mirrorless model, with the Nikon Z mount. The Japanese camera manufacturer has not yet disclosed technical details, but the company does say that the Z9 will get a new stacked cmos sensor and a new image processor.

This means that the camera should in any case be given the option to record videos in an 8k resolution. Nikon states that the new Z9 will surpass both previous digital SLRs and system cameras. It is the first time that Nikon places a mirrorless model at the top of its line-up.

It is not yet known when the Nikon Z9 will be released. According to the announcement, the camera should be released sometime this year. The price has not yet been announced, but it will probably be high. The current most expensive model, the Nikon D6, costs 7300 euros.
