Nikon makes NX Studio available for viewing and editing photos and video
Nikon has released NX Studio, a photo gallery and editor in one. The software combines ‘a large number of functions’ from Nikon’s ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D software. NX Studio is free to download.
According to Nikon, the NX Studio software has an improved interface compared to the two previous programs, which should feel more intuitive. The company has divided the photo and video editor functions into the categories of importing, viewing and editing. NX Studio allows users to adjust white balance, apply exposure compensation to RAW files, and use color control points to adjust colors within specified areas, among other things. In addition, there is a Healing Brush and the software supports filters with Picture Control.
Nikon says it has made functions within the software faster, so that processing both photos and videos should be faster. Edited photos can be uploaded from NX Studio to Nikon’s Image Space storage service and edited videos can be uploaded to YouTube. Nikon says it will no longer develop ViewNX-i and Capture NX-D. NX Studio is available for PCs with Windows 8.1 or macOS Mojave and above.
