Nightly version Firefox for Android will receive support for all extensions
Firefox Nightly for Android comes with support for all of the thousands of extensions listed on addons.mozilla.org. Developer Mozilla has announced this. The stable version will receive support for more extensions, but not all.
Support is coming later this month in the Nightly version, so users who are missing extensions can install them, while developers can test their extensions, Mozilla reports. The browser builder released the new version of Firefox for Android this summer with support for nine extensions.
The stable version will receive support for more extensions in the coming months, all from the Recommended program. It contains around a hundred add-ons for the browser. It is unknown when other extensions that can be tested in Nightly will be supported in the stable version. “Our plans to support add-ons on the stable version are not yet ready,” the company said.
The new version of Firefox for Android includes a new engine and a new look, in addition to lack of support for add-ons. The browser is also much faster than the previous version, according to Mozilla.
