Nightdive Studios has released the first cinematic scenes of Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition. The studio announced in March that it was working on a remaster of the 1997 scifi game.

The cutscenes of Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition are identical to the original, but sharper and in higher resolution. Nightdive Studios does not show gameplay images yet. The company polishes the images for 16: 9 display at 4k and at 60fps. The original ran at 15fps. The scifigame with point-and-click system also receives support for operation with controllers.

Nightdive Studios is rebuilding the game with its game engine KEX. The studio also used that engine for the remasters of System Shock and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. The studio had to reverse engineer the game because the source code of Westwood’s 1997 original was lost. Nightdive announced the game in March. Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition will be released this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
