Developer Night School Studio postpones thriller game Oxenfree II: Lost Signal until next year. The studio announced this on Twitter. The developer, who now falls under Netflix, wants to take extra time to finish the game and add more translations.

“To make Oxenfree II really special and add more localizations, we are moving our release window to 2023”, writes Night School Studio on Twitter. The company says it wants to take the time to make Oxenfree II its ‘best game yet’. The company is not sharing a more concrete release date.

Oxenfree II: Lost Signal is a sequel to the thriller adventure game Oxenfree from 2016. The sequel was initially planned for 2021. The release has now been pushed to 2023. The game will be released on Steam, PS4, PS5 and the Nintendo Switch. .

The developer of Oxenfree, Night School Studio, was acquired by Netflix last year. That streaming service also recently announced that the original Oxenfree will be available for free to all its subscribers. That new Netflix edition of Oxenfree offers subtitles in ‘more than thirty languages’ and is available for Android and iOS. With that, it comes as no surprise that Night School Studio wants to take the time to localize the game for more countries.
