Mining service Nicehash has promised to refund all stolen bitcoins from users. When that happens, the service will announce between now and January 31. Nicehash says repayment is possible thanks to help from investors.

All amounts above 0.0001BTC, currently around $1.42, will be paid out by Nicehash, the company reports. Any amount below that will be considered lost by the service. The mining service is now operational again and users can offer their computers again to let them mine crypto coins.

Nicehash does not want to disclose how the hack could have taken place. The company claims it has taken steps to increase security. The Slovenian service recently went offline after it was hacked. At first, the service led to believe Nicehash was down for maintenance.

It soon became clear that the stolen bitcoins had ended up in a wallet that received 4736 bitcoins on Wednesday. It is obvious that that wallet belongs to the person or those who committed the hack. Nicehash is a mining service, where users can use their hardware to mine cryptocurrencies such as monero and ether, after which the service pays users in bitcoin.
