OpenSea says it fears targeted phishing attacks and calls on users to pay close attention to mailings that appear to come from OpenSea.

The data breach came through Customer.io, the mail service that OpenSea uses. An employee of this was able to access all OpenSea users’ e-mail addresses and downloaded them. That employee then shared the email addresses further. It is unknown with whom. OpenSea has reported the incident to investigative authorities and is conducting an investigation, including in collaboration with Customer.io.
