Nexus 7 users report broken tablet after Lollipop update
A number of users of the Nexus 7 are experiencing major problems after updating the tablet to Android Lollipop. The update ensures that the tablet no longer functions. Google and Asus have not yet responded.
Users with problems have recently gathered on Google’s support forums, but also on Twitter notification made of the problems. Although the recently rolled out Lollipop update does not cause problems for everyone, a large number of users report a broken tablet. After installing the update, the device would no longer boot. Also booting in recovery mode does not help many users.
While most issues are reported with the Nexus 7, both the 2012 and 2013 versions, some users with a Nexus 5 are said to have boot issues after the Lollipop update. It is not yet clear exactly how big the problem is and Google and Asus have not yet responded to the complaints. As a result, it is not yet known what exactly causes the complaints. Since several symptoms are reported, it is possible that there are multiple underlying issues.
The boot issue is not the only issue reported after installing the Lollipop update. Several Android users, including those on non-Nexus devices, claim to be experiencing bugs. These include issues with Wi-Fi and instability.
