Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P images appear online
The two Nexus phones that are likely to be shown at the Google event next week are believed to be called Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. This is evident from images of the packaging that have appeared online. In addition, images of the 6P have come online
The Android Police site reports this in two separate messages. It has long been known that the new smartphones would be made by LG and Huawei. What was not yet clear was whether the phones would ‘just’ be called Nexus 5 and Nexus 6. After the photos of the packaging have come online, that turns out not to be the case. LG’s latest 5.2″ Nexus offspring will apparently be called the Nexus 5X and Huawei’s 5.7″ phone would be called the Nexus 6P.
The site also managed to seize a press photo of the Nexus 6P. The photos show an otherwise inconspicuous phone and symmetrical bezels on the top and bottom. Also, the device appears to have speakers on the front. At the back is a large, black bar that protrudes slightly. It seems that the lens and a camera flash are incorporated into this bar, but that is not entirely clear. There is also a fingerprint reader on the back.
