Next version Android will probably get built-in dark mode
The next version of Android, which will receive the letter Q, will probably get a dark mode. Google had put information about this online in the Chromium Bug Tracker, but that has now been protected.

There will be a setting under Settings Screen to enable dark mode, Android Police claims based on the information that is now only accessible to Google employees. In the post, an employee of the team working on Android Q called for all interface elements in apps to be dark before May this year.
There is now a limited dark mode in Android, which only gives the notification bar and toggles a dark tint. Some manufacturers, including Samsung, OnePlus and Huawei, have an extensive dark mode in their own software. A dark mode from Google could also give apps like Gmail and the Play Store a dark appearance.
Rumors of a dark mode in Android have been rumored for years and traces of it have appeared in developer previews of previous Android releases, but it hasn’t made it to a full release until now. Google usually announces the new versions of Android starting in March, with more information during its own developer conference I/O. It often takes place in May. Google previously showed a beneficial effect of a dark mode on the battery consumption of Android smartphones with OLED screens.
