Next Euro Truck Simulator 2 expansion is set in the Balkans
SCS Software announces the West Balkans expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. It takes place in a part of the Balkans, consisting of eight countries. It is not known when the expansion will be released exactly.
Users can in the West Balkans expansion drive through Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia. According to the developer, the expansion includes different types of landscapes, from big cities to the countryside, mountains and nature.
SCS writes that planning and research for the DLC began “over a year ago,” and that the first prototypes for specific locations were made last fall. The studio does say that it is still in the early stages of development and that most of the map design team started a few months ago.
According to the developer, development is now fully underway and SCS wants to release the expansion ‘as soon as possible’. The studio also indicates that it takes time to refine the expansion and that the dlc will only appear once it is finished.
Earlier this month, SCS Software indefinitely postponed its Heart of Russia expansion. Initially, that would be the next DLC for the game. The company did this because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The developer does not rule out that the expansion will still be released after the war.
