Nexon and Valve create free2play Counter-Strike game
The Japanese company Nexon is working in collaboration with the American development studio Valve on a new Counter-Strike game called Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies. The free2play game will be released this fall via Steam.
The Counter-Strike game that is being made by Nexon and Valve revolves around the battle that players will wage against zombies, Nexon announced on Thursday. The traditional Counter-Strike world becomes infected with a zombie virus that brings with it all kinds of new creatures, weapons and game modes. According to Nexon, the zombies are “fast, aggressive and dangerous”, which would provide a new gaming experience compared to previous Counter Strike games. Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies will be released on Steam this fall and will be offered with a free2play model.
In addition to shooting zombies, Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies will also allow players to play more standard game modes. Well-known CS game modes such as Hostage Rescue and Bomb Defuse will also be in the game. Valve and Nexon have not disclosed whether additional game modes will be added, or whether additional weapons, maps or modes may be purchased for a fee.
