Nexdock starts preorders laptop dock with 360 degree rotating screen
Nexdock will start shipping its new model Nexdock 360 in March, a laptop dock with a screen that can rotate 360 degrees. As a result, the device must also be usable as a tablet. The device has a slightly smaller screen than its predecessor.
Customers who have ordered a Nexdock Touch and have not yet received it can convert their order to a Nexdock 360, the company says. The Nexdock Touch is out of production; that device came out last summer.
The Nexdock 360 has a 13.3″ touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that can handle up to 300 candelas per square meter. The device has a 44Wh battery that can be charged with the 45W charger and the USB-C port with USB-PD. There are two more USB-C ports on it, one with USB 3.0 for data and one with USB 3.1 and DisplayPort for smartphone input. There is also an HDMI port on the device. The Nexdock 360 is equipped of four 1W speakers for sound.
The new laptop dock measures 30.7×20.9cm and is 14.7mm thick. The device measures 1190 grams. Nexdock devices can be used with the desktop mode of smartphones; Samsung, LG and Huawei, among others, support the use of a separate interface in combination with a larger screen. The laptop docks can also be used in combination with single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi.
