NexDock Announces Touchscreen Laptop Dock with Narrow Bezels

NexDock announces an improved version of the NexDock 2. Compared to the original, the laptop dock for smartphones and Raspberry Pis will include a touchscreen and narrower screen edges.

NexDock reports that it has tested a prototype of the NexDock Touch in recent weeks and has decided to start mass production. The NexDock Touch shows great similarities with the NexDock 2. The dimensions are the same, the resolution is still 1080p and the placement of the ports has not changed. However, the screen now has a diagonal of 14 inches instead of 13.3 inches and it is touch sensitive with the Touch. The screen edges are also narrower.

Furthermore, the battery capacity has been increased from 51Wh to 60Wh and NexDock speaks of improved speakers. Finally, the touchpad is a bit wider. The rest of the functionality is the same. The accessory can be used as a USB-C dock for smartphones, mini PCs and Raspberry Pis and as a second screen for PCs, tablets and Chromebooks.

NexDock is now taking pre-orders for $249. The expected suggested retail price at the release in August is $319. The suggested retail price of the NexDock 2 is $259. NexDock also shows a holder for smartphones that can be attached magnetically.
