New XPS 15 and 17 laptops with unknown i9 CPU appear on Dell website
Dell’s French website briefly posted two pages online with two new XPS laptops. The XPS 15 9500 and XPS 17 9700 are available with four different Intel processors, including an Intel Core i9 that has not yet been officially announced.
The laptops appeared briefly on a page that has since been taken offline, users write on Reddit, among others. The page showed two 15 and 17-inch laptops being released in the XPS line, respectively. The laptops both have a screen ratio of 16:10 and come with panels with a resolution of 1920×1200 or 3840×2400 pixels. The 1920×1200 screen can fully display the srgb gamut and has a contrast of 1650:1 on the XPS 15, while Dell does not mention that on the XPS 17. The uhd+ screens can display the full Adobe RGB color space and are equipped with a touchscreen. With the XPS 15, the contrast should be 1600:1. That screen is also HDR400 certified.
Strikingly, both laptops will be available with four different Intel CPUs, one of which has not yet been officially announced. That is the i9-10885H, with which it is stated that it will be available at a later time. It is a CPU with eight cores that can achieve a boost of up to 5.3GHz. Intel announced the Core i9-10980HK in early April, which also has eight cores and can reach 5.3GHz. In view of the lack of the ‘K’ suffix, this seems to be a model without a freely adjustable multiplier. In addition, the laptops are for sale with an i5-10300H, an i7-10750H and an i7-10875H processor.
Both laptops are for sale with an Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti GPU, in addition to the integrated uhd630 GPU in the Intel processor. The 17-inch laptop is also available with an Nvidia RTX 2060. The laptops will be available with two battery options. In the XPS 15 there is a choice between batteries with capacities of 56 and 86Wh, while the XPS 17 can be supplied with batteries of 56 or 97Wh. The latter model also features two NVME slots. The images show three USB-C ports on the XPS 15 and four on the XPS 17. The USB ports also support Thunderbolt. On the XPS 15 there are two, on the XPS 17 all. There was nothing on the pages about the prices and availability of the laptops, so nothing is known.
