New Windows 10 build brings improvements to Sets and wireless projection
Microsoft has released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17682. The update brings improvements to the Sets functionality for bundling apps and projecting the image to an external screen.
The Sets functionality to bundle apps as tabs in a window has been given an overview of frequently used apps, so that you can easily add them to a set. In addition, Microsoft has added an option at the bottom of the screen, next to News Feed, to consult a list of all apps, so that users are no longer dependent on the search function.
For wireless projection via Miracast, there is now a window bar, similar to remote desktop, that shows that a user is projecting. It includes a disconnect button, and there are three choices for optimizing latency: game, productivity, and video. Microsoft promises to add more features to the bar in the near future.
The Edge browser supports WebAuthN, or the Web Authentication API, since build version 17682. This enables authentication for web services via Windows Hello biometric login methods and FIDO2 hardware keys. Finally, after implementing the update, users will be presented with a screen that offers the option of services such as Hello, Link your Phone, Timeline. Set up Office 365 and OneDrive. Users can skip this.
The features are part of the Redstone 5 update that Microsoft is working on and will be distributed to Windows 10 users in September.
