The developer of JingOS has made a new developer release available. In particular, JingOS 0.9 should improve scaling. The Linux distro for tablets interface has also gotten more sound effects in this new version.

JingOS 0.9 is available for devices with an x86_64 processor and can be downloaded from Jingling’s forum. A demo of the new test version will be shown on the developer’s YouTube channel. The operating system is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu and is very similar to iPadOS.

The intention is that the operating system will also get an ARM version. Jingling is currently working on its own tablet: the JingPad. It is not yet known when the operating system or tablet should appear.

Earlier, the developer also showed a working version of JingOS 0.6 on a smartphone, although the functionalities were very limited. For example, the image can only be displayed in landscape mode.
