Images have been published of a black Surface Laptop, which would replace the golden version of the current generation. Microsoft is likely to announce new Surface products in early October, which would not deviate from the current design.

On the images MySmartPrice publishes are versions of the Surface Laptop in black, blue, gray and red. The black replaces the golden laptop of the current series, claims the site. It is possible that the new model will be called Surface Laptop 2, but that is not yet certain.

The design is also identical to that of the Surface Laptop at the moment. Microsoft would make the switch to Intel Core processors of the eighth generation and LPDDR4 ram, as expected. There is no usb-c connection on the images.

According to Microsoft watcher Paul Thurrot the Surface Pro also gets a black option. In addition, he expects Microsoft to announce a Surface Go with lte support. Thurrot also thinks that the Surface line will only receive a hardware upgrade.

Microsoft will hold an event on October 2 under the title ‘A moment of your time’, in New York.
