Ember Lab has announced its debut game Kena: Bridge of Spirits. The game is about Kena, a young Spirit Guide, who investigates an overgrown forest and an abandoned village. The game will be released later this year for PlayStation consoles and the PC.
According to the makers, the game world of Kena: Bridge of Spirits is full of ‘timid and elusive ghosts’. They maintain the balance in the forest by decomposing rotten elements. Players must collect Rot in the game to develop skills and transform the environment. The trailer shows Kena transforming a withered forest back into a green scene. According to the description, the game contains an ‘unforgettable storyline’ and fast battles.
Sony showed the game on Thursday during its PlayStation 5 presentation. The game is released for Sony’s new console, but also for the PlayStation 4. It is a timed exclusive ; the game may come to other consoles at a later date, but details are not yet known. However, a PC version will also be available in the Epic Games Store at the end of this year. An exact release date has not yet been announced.
Ember Lab is a new independent game studio consisting of fourteen employees. The makers receive support from Sony for creating the game. In 2016, the studio already released the animated short Majora’s Mask – Terrible Fate . That video pays homage to the Zelda game of the same name.
