Valve has adjusted the delivery time on its product page for the Steam Deck. Where it was stated on Monday that Steam Decks ordered now will be delivered after the second quarter of 2022, it is now ‘after the third quarter of 2022’.

That means it will certainly take until October for Valve to ship new orders of the handheld. The Steam Deck will be available for purchase from February 25, 2022, and according to Valve, every week a new group of customers will receive an email inviting them to order their pre-ordered Steam Decks. On Monday, Valve wrote that deliveries could be expected ‘after Q2 2022’; that is now ‘after Q3 2022’. Deliveries appear to be delayed in both Europe and the US, even though the reservation queue is region specific.

The Verge writes that the demand for the handheld is so great that the delivery time has probably become longer. Valve can only supply a limited number of Steam Decks. If you want to buy the Steam Deck, you have to pay 4 euros to get a place in the queue. That amount will be deducted once that person orders the Steam Deck.

In a news release on Steam Monday, Valve wrote that it has sent the order emails for the second set of reservations for Q1 2022. The first order email was sent on February 25. Valve writes that it has now “significantly ramped up” production of the Steam Deck. Valve also writes that the Steam Deck should be available for sale in more countries by the end of the year, including Japan.
