New smartphone OnePlus with code name A5000 shows up
OnePlus seems to be working on a successor for the OnePlus 3T smartphone. A device code-named A5000 was recently approved by the Chinese approval authorities. It may be the previously rumored OnePlus 5.
The Chinese site MyDrivers found the new model at the Chinese inspection authorities. Specifications were not clear from the approval report from the Chinese authorities, but it is probably a smartphone with a Snapdragon 835-soc from Qualcomm, accompanied by 8GB of ram. With this, OnePlus probably wants to compete again with devices at the high-end side of the smartphone market.
It is likely that the code name means that OnePlus does not give the new smartphone model number four, but goes directly to five. The OnePlus 2 and 3 had the code names A2000 and A3000 respectively. Because OnePlus has given the new model A5000, it will probably come on the market as the OnePlus 5. In previous rumors it was already stated that OnePlus would go from 3T directly to 5 in terms of naming.
The last smartphone that OnePlus released was the 3T, a faster version of the OnePlus 3. A black version of the smartphone was released in March.
