New Nvidia Shield TV with Tegra X1-soc overhaul arrives at FCC
Nvidia has registered a new version of its Shield TV with the American approval authority FCC. This shows that the set-top box with Android TV will again receive a Tegra X1 soc, but the type number has changed slightly, which indicates a revision of the chip.

There are no images or other details of the new Shield TV with the FCC. The device is registered as the Nvidia Shield Android TV Game Console P3430 and the accompanying documents show that it contains a Tegra X1 T210 B01 soc. The current Nvidia Shield TV also contains a Tegra X1, but that is the A2 variant.
References to a new Shield TV appeared in the Google Play Developer Console Catalog last month. It turned out that the device will run Android 9. There was also talk at the time about the revision of the Tegra X1-soc. According to developers, it would have clocked faster and consume less than the current variant.
When Nvidia will announce and release the new Shield TV is not yet clear. The current model was announced at CES in early 2017. That was the successor to the original Shield TV from 2015.
