New Myst game and TV series are in the works

The legendary puzzle game Myst is revived. The makers of the Myst games have signed a deal with Legendary Entertainment for a TV series. In addition, the TV series will be accompanied by a new Myst game.

The new Myst game seems to be intended to support the new TV series: Variety magazine is talking about a companion game. A version for tablets is also planned. It is not yet clear when the TV series and game will be released, and Legendary has yet to decide whether the TV series will be distributed via traditional TV channels or digitally, for example via Netflix.

The creator of the original Myst games, Cyan Entertainment, is involved in the development of the TV series and game. Cyan is also working on Obduction, a successor to Myst that successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign last year. As far as we know, Obduction is separate from the new series and game.
