New Jeep Wrangler the undisputed offroad champion
In terms of design, the new Jeep Wrangler builds on the previous models but is still recognizable by the traditional Jeep design elements, varying from the round headlights to the famous seven-slot radiator grille. Other authentic Wrangler details are the fold-down windshield, the roll bar and the removable doors.
The new exterior design of the Wrangler looks ‘as always’ sturdy and robust with large wheels placed at the corners and a lower waist line with larger windows for better visibility. The seven-sided grille has been given a more modern look by allowing both outer grill ribs to traverse through the headlights. This as a tribute to the famous CJ model. The top of the rectangular grille is slightly bent backwards for a lower air resistance.
In the Sahara and Rubicon versions, the optional LED headlights and fog lamps emit a bright white light. The LED daytime running lights (DRL) have been moved to the front of the mudguards, while the traditional square rear lights are now also available with LED lamps.
The windshield is positioned at an angle for a lower air resistance and the windshield frame only has four bolts at the top, so that the glass can be folded down more quickly. The upper cross bar of the new window frame connects the A-pillars and stays in place when the glass is folded down. This means that the inside mirror can also stay in place when the windshield is folded down. Two-piece mudguards in body color with a black underside are standard on the Sahara.
For the new lightweight aluminum doors, the size of the required Torx bit is indicated directly on the hinge to easily remove the doors.
All Wrangler models now have a roll bar in body color. The bracket is welded to the body and fitted with integrated support handles. The fourth generation Jeep Wrangler is offered in three different versions: Sport, Sahara and Rubicon. These are all available in both two and four-door versions, while the Sahara version offers an Overland option package that gives this model an even more exclusive appearance.
The new Jeep Wrangler will be available from September at the European Jeep dealers.
