‘New image shows final version of LG’s G6 device’
A new image has surfaced online that would show the final design of LG’s upcoming G6 device. This will be revealed on February 26. The smartphone would also run on a Snapdragon 821 soc instead of the 835 variant.
The image was posted online by The Verge. The site claims that it is the first image of the new device. As was previously known, the smartphone has a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 2:1. The image shows that the G6 has narrow bezels and a rounded design that already was seen on previously released renders.According to The Verge, the device is completely made of glass and metal, and has a 3.5mm connection.
Forbes claims to have information from a source showing that the new LG ‘flagship’ runs on a Snapdragon 821 soc from Qualcomm. The reason for this choice is that the newer Snapdragon 835 will not be available in large quantities until the release of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the site said. That Samsung has priority in integrating the chip would not be surprising, because it is known that Qualcomm builds the chip based on Samsung’s 10nm process.
LG has announced its intention to unveil the G6 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. It previously sent an invitation for February 26.
