Bend Studio, one of Sony’s PlayStation Studios, is working on a game that will include multiplayer and build on Days Gone’s “open world” systems. It is not a successor, but a completely new game. Further details are not yet known.

Released in 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Days Gone is an open-world game that pits players against huge hordes of zombies. It is not yet known whether the new game also has zombies as a theme. Combat against large groups of enemies is the signature feature of the previous game from Bend Studio. Judging by the wording on the new project, it seems likely that this concept is making a comeback.

The details about the new game are brief described in a PlayStation blog about the new logo of Bend Studio. This is ‘new intellectual property’, so not a sequel to Days Gone or any other existing game.

Bend Studio has been a PlayStation Studio since 2000. The developer made for Days Gone, among others, Siphon Filter, Resistance: Retribution and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Former high-ranking Bend Studio employees previously said Sony gave the impression that Days Gone was a disappointment, as the game achieved a Metacritic score of 71. The game was also released for PC in 2021.
