New 4K HDR Blu-ray player from Sony

Sony comes with a new Blu-ray player, the UBP-X500, which supports 4K HDR playback and Dolby Atmos. According to Sony, the device offers an excellent color gamut and more contrast and brightness than standard Blu-ray players. That would result in "a lifelike image and high-quality reproduction of details."

In addition to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs, the UBP-X500 also provides advice with DVDs, SACDs and most digital audio and video formats with high resolution. The player can also scale lower video resolutions to 4K.

From mid-August, the Sony UBP-X500 must be available in the Benelux for a price of EUR 200.
