Netflix to broadcast anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in 2022

Netflix has announced that it is working on a new anime series set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to arrive via the streaming video service in 2022.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime series created by the Japanese animation studio Studio Trigger. It is a spin-off set in the game world of Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red. The series will consist of ten parts and will premiere in 2022.

According to the makers, the series follows the story of a boy who tries to survive in the violent Night City and has to overcome numerous difficulties. He offers himself as a cyberpunk mercenary: an edgerunner. Little else is known about the series, but it is clear that Akira Yamaoka will compose the music. He is known, among other things, as a composer of the music of Silent Hill.
