Netflix test feed with additional videos and images from series

Netflix has started testing an Extras tab in the app. It contains videos and images of series that users follow. That footage cannot be found anywhere else within Netflix, Variety claims.

The Extras tab also lets users set reminders for when a new season of a particular series comes online, Variety reports. The tab appears at the bottom of the screen and does not replace any other part of the interface. The videos play by default without sound, although there is sound present in the footage.

Users can scroll images horizontally to see more of them. What appears in the Extras tab has to do with series the user is watching or series that Netflix thinks the customer is interested in. It is unknown how many people are in the test. Netflix confirms the test, but does not say how long it will last or whether the feature will appear in the app in this form for all customers.
